How I play, what I train, and the facts behind it, in my own words.

How I play

I play high-percentage tennis. I build with heavy, deep balls to the backhand, move my opponent, and stay patient until I get the short ball, then step inside the court and finish at the net when I can, with drop shots and angles when an opponent sits back.

My forehand is the shot I build around. My two-handed backhand is dependable in cross-court rallies and lets me absorb pressure and wait for the right chance to turn aggressive. I rely on a high first-serve percentage to start points on my terms, then look to attack with my first forehand.

Right now I'm working on earlier forehand preparation, choosing the right ball to attack, and my transition to the net. I'm also turning my return of serve into a weapon: studying serving patterns before a match and updating my read during it, letting the split step flow straight into movement toward the ball, shortening my backswing against fast serves, and using court position to take time away.

What I train

Fitness

I lift several days a week and train speed, movement, and conditioning so I'm ready for long matches. Recovery is part of the plan, not an afterthought: mobility work, stretching, and taking care of my body between sessions so I can train hard again the next day.

Technique

Clean, repeatable strokes: the forehand I build around, a dependable two-handed backhand, and a high-percentage first serve. Right now I'm focused on earlier forehand preparation, my transition game, and the return of serve: a shorter backswing against fast serves and a split step that flows straight into the ball.

Tactics

I play in patterns. I'd rather construct a point than gamble on it: heavy depth to the backhand, move my opponent, wait for the short ball, then step in and finish. I know my go-to patterns on serve and return, and I run them with purpose.

Match strategy

Every opponent is a puzzle. I look for what they do well and where they're uncomfortable, then build the match around making them play from that spot. When something isn't working, I solve it on court, adjusting rather than waiting for the problem to fix itself. I study serving patterns before a match and update my read as it goes.

Nutrition

I treat fueling and recovery as part of training: protein, hydration, and eating properly before and after sessions, along with the supplements my team recommends to support recovery.

Mental

The mental side is one of the most important parts of my game, and I work on it every day. I train directly with Christian Straka, a mental performance coach who has worked with tour-level players, on staying present, managing my emotions, and making clear decisions under pressure. It's what lets me reset after a mistake and keep competing at any score.

Why I play

I love competing and seeing how much I can improve every day, on the court, in the gym, and mentally. I want a coach to know I'm coachable, I enjoy being pushed, and I'll always give my best effort. My goal is to play college tennis at the highest level I can, and to keep growing as a player and a person.
